Commerzbank: If you want control, you have to create a vision!

The Italian bank UniCredit apparently intends—once the ECB has granted approval—to take full control of Commerzbank, which it will then control, as early as the beginning of 2027—and, according to media reports, is seeking an immediate reshuffle of the Supervisory Board and the Management Board of Commerzbank. Marcus Bourauel, a member of the DBV Executive Board and the works council at Commerzbank headquarters, is calling on the major Milan-based bank to finally build trust through genuine negotiation and alignment of the interests of both sides —in particular, a viable future for the more than 40,000 colleagues who were the ones who got the highly successful business model of Germany’s second-largest private bank off the ground in the first place…
