DBV Board of Directors: Fresh Talent and Long-Standing Experience

Ulrich “Ulli” Probst served as vice chair of the DBV Executive Board for seven years, beginning in 2019—and will now, in mid-2026, pass the baton to Heike Borowski.
Ulli, a native of Upper Franconia from the Coburg region, served two terms on the DBV Executive Board, where he was a source of ideas and a driving force. He is now retiring to spend more time with his family, and we will miss him greatly.
The “newcomer” taking his place at the DBV certainly has nothing to be shy about. Heike Borowski, a native of the Rhineland, has been helping shape the workplace at Deutsche Bank for years—ever since 1986, when she began her banking apprenticeship at the Düsseldorf branch.
After working in the private and business customer banking divisions, Heike joined Konsul Inkasso GmbH, a spun-off service company. Initially, she worked without a collective bargaining agreement, but Heike refused to let the matter rest and sought to improve her pay and working conditions. In the 2010s, she increasingly succeeded in achieving a more merit-based pay scale, shorter working hours, and more vacation time—with Heike at the forefront of the DBV negotiating committee.

The employee at “Konsul” brings compelling arguments to the collective bargaining table thanks to her election to the group works council of the parent company, Deutsche Bank, and her 16-year commitment there. And with success: Heike’s efforts recently led to the transfer of Konsul employees to the private banking industry-wide collective bargaining agreement, which will result in improved pay for the vast majority of them starting in the fall of 2026.
Heike served as chair of the Konsul works council for 20 years—and, following the transition, moved to the large joint works council for Essen, Dortmund, and Bielefeld at the parent company, Deutsche Bank.
We are proud that Heike Borowski has joined us as vice chair of the DBV Board following Ulli Probst’s retirement!
